Bol is oldest town on island of Brac. It is located on the south side of island at the foot of the Vidova Mountain which is highest island peek on Adriatic with 778 meters. Bol has many beaches, most popular one is Zlatni rat or Golden horn, which is located on the west side of the town. The beach extends half a kilometers into the sea and is one of the most beautiful beaches on Mediterranean.
On the east side of Bol there is Dominican monastery with museum which has a rich archaeological collection and diverse valuable objects and paintings. Two kilometers to the west of Bol there is Zmajeva spilja (Dragons cave), a monument of the cave monastery life of Glagolitic priests in the 15th century. There is great excursion site 30 min away by excursion boat from Bol. Its Blaca desert, which is monastery that was built up gradually beginning with the cave. It was built in year 1551 by monks from main land who found a shelter there due to the Turk invasion.. You can also visit art gallery "Branislav Deskovic" which is located in Bol port in the renaissance-baroque palace, it has over 300 paintings and sculptures.
Bol is perfect for active vacation. There are many diving centers. Bol is one of the best location for windsurfing in Croatia because of winds that are blowing almost everyday. In Bol there are 20 tennis clay courts. There is also mountain trail that leads to Vidova mountain with beautiful view on surrounding islands and Bol. On the top of the mountain is restaurant where guests can take break before going back to Bol.
